Apart from the schedule declaration another great news buzzing in the racing week scenario is that Australia Yachting has suggested that the IRC 2015 Australian Championship to be a part of this event.

Interestingly, Karl Kwok from Hong Kong, the current champ of IRC Audi Australian has already announced via the plain sailing facebook page that “I would be back”. Kwok also won Grand Prix at 2014 Race Week along with his Team TP52 Beau Geste.

Karl’s sentiment is duly echoed by the fifteen time race veterans John & Kim Clinton. This year, the pair raced their Oceanis 50 (Beaneteau), Holy Cow, at cruising division. Kim & John would be contesting again the upcoming 2015 Hamilton Island racing week.
“It’s a wonderful event which caters to everybody & all budgets”, stated John “For us, the cruising folks, it is kind of like annual reunion. It is fabulous fun & the island crew really took good care of us.”

Multihulls made mark in 2014 with over twenty entries amidst a long fleet comprising of around 182 yachts. The prestigious regatta seemed to have impressed all the contestants. “Absolutely Fantastic”, noted William Dicker, the owner of Seawind 1000. “Everything regarding it was simply great- be it the racing, combativeness of this competition & dockside fun”.

Drew Wooler reflected same kind of sentiment – “I do not feel there is any better regatta than this.”
