The Rio Paralympics will be flooded with 2.4 Norlin OD world champions, sailing, world cup winners, new comers and Paralympics gold medalist.

One of the strongest contenders to win the Paralympics gold medal at Rio is France’s Damien Seguin. He is looking forward to this event and wants to grab the gold medal that has eluded him since winning it in Athens in 2004. Damien said that he is feeling good about competing in Rio and is quite relaxed, with his business Scottish Yacht Charter being looked after by his brother whilst he’s away.

He has checked everything his boat, gear and now is all set to hit the waters. He has been excited about taking part in the race for over a month and is confident of what he has to do at the event. Damien likes to see himself in one of the three positions on the podium and knows that the race will be a very tight regatta.

Seguin is a multiple world champion and says that the competition will be a tough one with the likes of Great Britain, Germany, USA, Australia and Norway are competing. He has done everything in his stride to get to this stage and now just wants to get out there and perform at his best for his country.

Germany’s Heiko Kroeger is another multiple world champion who thinks on the similar lines as Seguin. He feels that France, USA, Great Britain, Norway and Australian racers are a serious threat to him. He is the current champion of the world and knows what it takes to win a gold medal at Rio.

The 2.4 Norlin OD race begins on 12th September in the Pão de Açucar race area of Guanabara Bay.
