Dalton Hopeful To Set Sail With His Team

The signs of New Zealand making it to the next America’s Cup are looking quite good after the boss Grant Dalton gave thumbs up in his interview.

The head of the New Zealand team said that they are looking forward for the event and they are also hopeful about the Volvo Ocean Race campaign. He has taken some time for himself to get the funds for the competition for the year 2014/15. The total amount still left to collect is $27 million for the New Zealand team.

Dalton thinks that although it will be a big mountain to climb but he is hopeful and thinks that it can be done. With the recent changes in the New Zealand base camp they have lost quite a bit of money for that and that has affected in the fund for the competition.

The coach said that he is aware of the deadline for the entry and thinks that he is facing a problem with $17 million but still believes that by March something or the other will be done.
Dalton also added that it will take some miracle to get all the money and as a team they are trying their level best.

The team has become a personal crusade for him now and he would do anything to not let the team down. The crew for the New Zealand team is all set and it is only a matter of time and money that is keeping them away from setting sail for this season. Camper, a Spanish footwear company will be sponsoring the New Zealand for the Volvo Ocean Race campaign and they have promised to sign a sponsorship for America’s Cup as well. However the team is yet to find a sponsor for the round the world race this year.
